Course Policies and Procedures

 

Students may enroll prior to the commencement of the class. Refund Policy:

A student may cancel enrollment by giving written notice to Horizon Capital training Institute. If notice occurs; within three business days of class starts, all monies will be refunded, unless the course has commenced, Or, after two business days of enrollment date and prior to the commencement of classes, the refund will be based on the proportion of time spent in the class per the enrollment agreement

Change Fee:

 

Based on COVID-19 concerns the normal change fee policy will not be enforced in the year 2021. Under normal circumstances a $25.00 fee will be charged to any student who changes any day in their sequence of classes within three business days of the class date. In addition, based on COVID-19 concerns a $25.00 fee per day fee will not be charged to any student who does not show up to a class without the three days prior notice based on COVID-19 concerns. We will make every attempt to reschedule, but no guarantees can be made at this time.

 

Attendance Policy:

 

Students are expected to be on time and ready for class at the scheduled times. The course will be based on the content and/or activities meeting the minimum time requirement of 50 seat minutes for each clock hour the course is approved.  This is to ensure that the course meets the minimum time required by the SAFE Act.

 

The courses will be offered as either in class or a webinar format.  In both cases there will be a definite start and end time and students must be present on each day in its entirety to receive credit for the class.  The example of twenty courses which will be offered are a three day seminar where the course will be offered from 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, Saturday, and 9 am to 1 pm on Thursday which equals twenty hours.  

 

Attendance requirement to completion of the course is as follows: A certificate of completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the program. Each student must complete the required hours of training  and achieve a minimum score of 75% on the final exam.

Grievance Procedure:

 

Horizon Capital Training Institute approves courses with the rules and regulations of the Nationwide Multi-Licensing System& Registry (NMLS) and the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) and always seeks to maintain compliance. Students who have a grievance with Horizon Training Institute are encouraged to discuss their concerns with their instructor. If the resolution at that level is not satisfactory, the student may discuss their concerns with the program director and every effort will be made to remedy the situation.

Privacy policy

​

HCTI will provide each student a username and password which will allow them to enter each course and have all their personal information as well as academic work to remain private. The institute will protect each student’s privacy by assigning each student   with a student identification number to protect their privacy.

 

Protection of Student Information

​

HCTI will maintain all student physical records in a secure file cabinet located at the office   located at 8115 Fenton Street Suite 204 Silver Spring, MD 20910.  In addition, all digital records will be maintained in a secure digital Dropbox account maintained by HCTI and backed up on secure computer managed and maintained by the management of HCTI who have privilege access rights to that information.   Instructors and management staff only.
